Taylor’s Three-Run Blast, Young’s Clutch Hit Give Y-D a Tie

A three-run blast by Carson Taylor (Virginia Tech) in the fifth inning and a two-out RBI single by Wyatt Young (Pepperdine) in the ninth gave the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox a 4-4 tie with the Harwich Mariners last night. Erik Tolman (Arizona State) got the start for Y-D and pitched five solid innings, and Jacob Winger (High Point) threw two scoreless innings to bring his ERA down to an impressive 1.10.

Anglers Outlast Red Sox In 4-3 Ball Game

For the second night in a row, the Anglers separated themselves from the Red Sox with another head to head win. Y-D came out on the losing end of a back and forth 4-3 ball game. The loss puts the Red Sox four points behind the Anglers in the standings with only six games remaining on the schedule.

Chatham Pitching Continues to Stifle Y-D, Sox Lose 5-0

In a battle for sole possession of first place in the East Division, the Chatham Anglers’ pitching staff stifled the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox yet again, allowing just two hits and no runs. The Y-D pitching staff fell behind batters, walking nine and giving up six hits. The 5-0 loss puts the Red Sox back in second place and raises questions about how they will fare in the upcoming playoffs.

Leftwich Dominates, Sox String Together Hits in 5-0 Win

Florida pitcher Jack Leftwich had his best outing of the summer last night in a 5-0 win against the Bourne Braves. He struck out five batters and gave up just four hits and one walk in 6.1 innings of work. Chase Walter (Western Carolina) and Brady Corrigan (ASU) were spotless out of the bullpen, and the Red Sox offense strung together five runs on eight hits and three walks.

Eyster Is The Hero in Y-D’s Walk Off Win

In what was with no doubt the most exciting game of the summer, the Red Sox came out on top with a 6-5 win. They won in walk off fashion thanks to an incredible comeback in the home half of the ninth.

Bullpen Struggles in 9-4 Loss at Harwich

Two days after the Bourne Braves threw a perfect game in five innings against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, the Y-D offense came alive against the Harwich Mariners, accumulating 12 hits ? including two long balls. Erik Tolman (Arizona State) had another solid outing, but the bullpen gave up seven runs in the 9-4 loss. The Red Sox remain just two points behind the first-place Chatham Anglers.

Red Sox Are No-Hit By The Braves, Lose 6-0

One day removed from scoring nine runs against the Braves, the Red Sox were shut out on Wednesday night in a game that was cut short. Bourne defeated Y-D 6-0, while pitcher Nick Dombkowski (Hartford) essentially threw a perfect game; he was on the fortunate side of a rain delay through the fifth inning that eventually led to the game being called off.

Eight Players Record a Hit in 9-4 Win Against Bourne

Eight different batters recorded at least one hit in the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox’s 9-4 win against the Bourne Braves last night. Sam Hall (Clemson), Brad Beesley (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo), Noah Campbell (South Carolina), and Wyatt Young (Pepperdine) each had a multi-hit game. Y-D got five strong innings out of starting pitcher Jack Leftwich (Florida), a five-strikeout performance by Chase Walter (Western Carolina) in just two innings of work, and another solid outing by closer Jacob Winger (High Point).
