The 2013 Cape Cod Baseball League schedule was officially announced by League Commissioner Paul Galop earlier this month. As with previous years, each team has a 44-game schedule, with six match ups against each team from its respective division, and four against each team from the opposing division. The Y-D Red Sox, along with the rest of the Cape League, will open their 2013 campaign on Wednesday, June 12, hosting the Bourne Braves at 5:00 PM at Red Wilson Field.
Later in the month, Red Wilson Field will be the site of the Yarmouth Summer Celebration Kick Off on the 29th. The Red Sox open the evening with a 5:00 date with the Brewster Whitecaps. Following the game, the team will present a fireworks display for the third consecutive year.
For the third time, the Cape League All Star Game will be played at Red Wilson Field, on July 27th, 2013. The All Star Game has historically been a showcase of the top talent across the League, with countless Major League stars making appearances in past years? games. Players featured in the past have included Bobby Kielty (1998), Kevin Youkilis (2000), Tim Lincecum (2005), and Buster Posey (2006, 2007). Previously, Y-D had hosted the All Star Game in 2006 and 1996.
