Y-D’s fifteen hits on the day set a new season-high, passing the 12 the Red Sox had against Bourne on June 21. The win also dropped Y-D’s magic number to one after Chatham’s loss to Cotuit. All the Red Sox need is a tie in the remaining eight games to guarantee a playoff berth.
The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox fell to the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, 9-3, Wednesday morning at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Harford, Connecticut. Y-D went down, 9-0, after three innings and never got back into it.

Cole Carrigg, Luke Shliger, Jared Lyons, Bryce Robison, Luke Jewett, Hunter Haas, and Homer Bush Jr. will all represent Y-D at Saturday’s All-Star Game at Wareham’s Spillane Field. Carrigg and Shliger will be in the East Division’s starting lineup.
With Chatham’s Ben Hampton dominating through the first four innings Friday night, Taylor did the same for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He matched Hampton out-for-out until, finally, the Sox made a breakthrough.
