After a 4-1-1 week, the Y-D Red Sox have an eight-point lead atop the East division and are looking for a strong push over the final four games before the All-Star break.

Cole Carrigg, Luke Shliger, Jared Lyons, Bryce Robison, Luke Jewett, Hunter Haas, and Homer Bush Jr. will all represent Y-D at Saturday’s All-Star Game at Wareham’s Spillane Field. Carrigg and Shliger will be in the East Division’s starting lineup.
With Chatham’s Ben Hampton dominating through the first four innings Friday night, Taylor did the same for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He matched Hampton out-for-out until, finally, the Sox made a breakthrough. Jonny Long’s two-run homer in the top of the fifth broke the deadlock, and the Red Sox cruised to a 4-1 win over the Chatham Anglers at Veterans Field.

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox battled back from 2-0 and 4-3 deficits to take a 6-4 lead into the sixth inning, and although they allowed the Harwich Mariners to tie the game in the sixth, they held on to secure a 6-6 tie with the Mariners Friday night at Red Wilson Field. The game was called after seven innings due to darkness.
After a comeback victory against Bourne, the Sox fell to Orleans before rattling off wins against Chatham and Cotuit and sweeping Falmouth in a doubleheader on Sunday.
The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox got two early runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back, riding an impressive start from Grand Canyon’s Connor Markl the rest of the way Sunday night, beating the Falmouth Commodores, 4-0, in game two of a doubleheader. The Red Sox completed the sweep after a game one win.
