Preview of Sunday’s doubleheader against Cotuit

Lyndsey Armacost // Y-D Red Sox

Just 16 hours after the Sox?s first win over the Bourne Braves, they are taking batting practice at Red Wilson Field in preparation for a doubleheader against the Cotuit Kettleers. With not much time to rest, the Red Sox are ready to keep rolling through this weekend and build on what they started last night. Pitcher Ricky Thomas, who started and got the victory for the Sox last night, said, ?We?re fired up?we?re going to finish this hot streak and see where it goes.? Tune into our live video broadcast at 2 p.m. today at http://www.teamline.cc/free_view?teamcode=2660&eventcode=5&status=PFF to see if the Red Sox can continue their win streak.

Players to watch: Jake Devries

Devries, a sophomore at the Air Force Academy, will make his first start for the Y-D Red Sox in the first game of the doubleheader after appearing in one inning of relief for the Sox in their first game of the season against Chatham. Devries started in 13 of his 16 appearances this past season for Air Force and will most likely be available for Y-D as a starter and reliever this summer.

Cole Billingsley:

Billingsley is leading off for the Sox for his third straight game after proving himself as someone that can get on base. In the past 2 games, Billingsley has gone 2-7 with a double, a triple, 3 runs, and 1 walk. If he can continue to get on base for the Red Sox at the top of the lineup, the Red Sox are poised to score more runs, like they did last night.

Brady Conlan

Brady Conlan led the Red Sox offensively last night going 3 for 5 at the plate. With Conlan batting seventh in the lineup, look to see if he can continue his success and contribute to some rallies for the Sox. Conlan will play first base tonight, replacing Ryan Noda, while Connor Wong remains at third base after a great performance last night.
