This Saturday, June 23rd, is Ryan Vermette Day at Red Wilson Field as the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox host the Wareham Gateman. Vermette was seriously injured on April 4 in Cape Town, South Africa when he was hit by a car. He suffered spinal cord injuries and the cost of the medical expenses is high.
Vermette and his family will be in attendance Saturday to throw out the first pitch and take in the action as the Red Sox battle Wareham. The Y-D portion of the 50-50 take and all of the gate donations will go towards Vermette in his recovery and the Bring Ryan Home Fund.
Also benefitting Vermette and his recovery, there will be a BBQ fundraiser and silent auction to be held at The Dennis Inn in Dennis on Sunday afternoon. Tickets to the BBQ can be purchased for just $10 at the concession stand during Saturday?s game at Red Wilson Field.
